For one night only, in two spectacular hangars at IWM Duxford, experience a kaleidoscopic night of content - 1940’s cocktails, pin-ups, hot dogs, vintage live bands and your exceptional dancing – all wrapped around the UK film premiere of ‘Magpie’…

The Americans have arrived. The year is 1943 and over 350,000 USA troops have brought their charm, generosity and courage to Britain.  In the film we’ll meet Lily (Hannah Morrish), who sees her usually attentive and loyal husband, George, (Matt Downton) devastated by his experiences on the front line.  Amidst the fast-paced ‘friendly invasion’ of the U.S. Eighth Air Force, Lily finds comfort in the companionship of Charlie (Mateo Oxley), an American serviceman stationed nearby. Her feelings for both lead us on a journey of love, loss, fear and friendship…

The team behind House of Cambridge are bringing you their first ever extraordinary event, in partnership with the Cambridge Cocktail Weekend, the Cambridge Film Festival, the Cambridge International Jazz Festival and Neon Moon Burlesque & Cabaret Club.

Who are you? You’re living in a time of rations and blackouts. Where posters abound stating that ‘to dress extravagantly in wartime is worse than bad form, it is unpatriotic’, (luckily, as we’re bending time for this event, you can break that rule) and exhorting us to ‘eat less bread’ and not to drink alcoholic drinks on Mondays.

Well, it’s a Saturday so we’ll be fine…. And so, ladies and gentlemen, you are cordially invited to the biggest and best ‘1940’s vintage event / UK film premier with period food, cocktails and entertainment’ that our little island has ever seen.

**Do Dress Up**
This is an immersive-vibe style of event - we'd love to see you in your finery and will be awarding a bottle of bubbly to the best dressed person in the room..

**Do Come On Time**
Our Wing Commander, in charge of proceedings, may have a little to say if you're late ;)  But, seriously, there'll be a lot happening, and we'll be emailing all guests in advance of the event to explain...

**What does it cost?**
Standard tickets cost £32.50 / early bird tickets (of which we're offering a limited number so get in quick before they go!) cost £28, and VIP tickets cost £50 (with an early bird price of £45). There is a small booking fee applied by our ticket partner. 

**What's included in the ticket price?** 
A sparkling drink on arrival, as well as two live bands, one film premiere, and an incredible vibe. If you buy a VIP ticket you get a 'meet & greet' with the director & cast, an extra cocktail, a hotdog from the Grill Sergeant or a vegan / vegetarian option (which is unlikely to be vintage, but we figured that a vegan hotdog with bread might not be everyone's cup of tea, so we're going to bring in some gorgeous vegan food and warp time), and the best seats in the house for the film.

**What else is available?**
Period cocktails. And pretty much every drink a bar normally serves. And food from The Grill Sergeant.
